Month-end split — marketplace settlements post to the month they belong to

Marketplaces don't pay out on the 1st of the month. An Amazon settlement deposited on August 11 can carry two weeks of July sales, so July's revenue, fees and refunds land in your August books, and every month-end close needs a manual adjustment. Month-end split fixes that for Amazon, Walmart, eBay and TikTok Shop. When a settlement or payout runs across a month end, SKU.io posts one set of documents per month: each month's lines are booked in that month, and together they still add up to the deposit.

✨ What this means for you:

  • Sales, fees and refunds land in the month they happened, not the month Amazon or Walmart happened to pay you.
  • The parts still add up to the deposit, so bank reconciliation works exactly as before.
  • Locked months never change. Lines dated in a closed period post in the first open month.
  • New marketplace connections have it on from the start; existing ones switch it on with a date you choose.
  • Every settlement shows which months it posted to, with links to each month's documents.

One set of documents per month

Turn on Split settlements at month end (eBay and TikTok Shop call it Split payouts at month end) on the channel's settlement or payout mappings page, and pick a Split from date. From then on, a settlement whose lines cross a month end posts in parts:

  • Each earlier month posts on that month's last day. Its reference carries the month, for example -2026-07.
  • The last part keeps the settlement date and the usual reference.

A settlement whose lines all fall in one month posts exactly as it always has. Settlements already sent to Xero or QuickBooks keep the shape they were sent with.

See where every settlement landed

Each settlement and payout page has a new Months posted to card. It shows each month the settlement posted to, the date its documents carry, how many lines fell in that month, their net, and links to the documents themselves. A chip at the top tells you at a glance whether the settlement was split.

Shopify and Temu

Shopify and Temu payouts already split at month end with their own settings, on their payout mappings pages. Nothing changes there.

Where to find it

Apps & Integrations → your Amazon, Walmart, eBay or TikTok Shop store → Finance → Settlement Mappings (eBay and TikTok Shop: Payout Mappings). The Months posted to card is on each settlement or payout page.
