Privacy policy for the SKU.io Chrome extensions

Last updated October 16, 2026.

This policy covers the Chrome extensions published by SKU.io: Barcode Checker, Tracking Number Finder and 4x6 Label Fitter. The short version: they collect nothing, and nothing you check leaves your browser.

What the extensions can see

  • Barcode Checker: only the text you select and choose to check. Permissions: one: the right-click menu.
  • Tracking Number Finder: only the text you select and choose to search. Permissions: one: the right-click menu.
  • 4x6 Label Fitter: only the pdf files you drop onto it. Permissions: none.

None of the extensions asks Chrome for access to any website, so none of them can read or change the pages you visit. When you choose a right-click menu item, Chrome passes the text you selected to the extension at that moment, and nothing else.

What they do with it

The text or file is processed inside the extension, on your computer, to show you the result. It is not stored after you close the window, not sent to SKU.io or anyone else, and not used for advertising, profiling or analytics. The extensions contain no analytics or tracking code.

Each extension declares a content security policy that only allows it to connect to its own files. Chrome enforces that policy, so the extension is not able to send what you check to any server.

Links you choose to open

Barcode Checker can open a public search page (for example Walmart, eBay or Google Shopping) for a code, and Tracking Number Finder can open a carrier's public tracking page. These open only when you click them, in a normal browser tab, and the site you open handles that visit under its own privacy policy. The one link to www.sku.io in each extension carries a tag naming the extension, so we can count visits that came from it. Visits to www.sku.io are covered by the SKU.io privacy policy.

Accounts, sale and transfer

There is no account and no sign-in. Because the extensions collect no user data, SKU.io does not sell it, transfer it, or use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending.

Chrome Web Store User Data Policy

The use of information received by these extensions adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Changes and contact

If an extension ever needs to handle data differently, this page will change before that version is published, and the change will be described at the top. Questions: contact SKU.io.
