Short answer, as of 6 November 2026: Descartes Systems Group, which bought Extensiv on 1 September 2026, has not publicly announced an end-of-life date for Extensiv Order Manager, the product that used to be Skubana. But Order Manager customers are being told by their Extensiv account team that their contracts will not be renewed, with no sunset date given. And Descartes told its investors in September to expect revenue to fall away from the part of Extensiv that sits outside its 3PL warehouse business, early in its next fiscal year. Order Manager is the brand-side product outside that core.
If you run on Order Manager, treat your contract end date as your deadline until Descartes says something different in writing.
I run SKU.io, which competes with Order Manager, so weigh what follows accordingly. I have kept what is public apart from what I was told, and said which is which. I will update this page when Descartes or Extensiv says anything on the record.

What has Descartes said in public?
Two things, and neither of them names Order Manager.
The acquisition announcement, 1 September 2026. Descartes said it had acquired Extensiv for about US $120 million in cash. The release describes Extensiv entirely as warehouse management and fulfillment software for third-party logistics providers, and talks about selling it alongside Descartes’ transportation, customs and last-mile products. Order Manager does not appear in it.
The earnings call, 10 September 2026. A published summary of Descartes’ second-quarter call lists, among the highlights, potential revenue attrition expected in a small portion of Extensiv’s business outside the 3PL WMS core offering, early next fiscal year. Management said the focus is growing the 3PL WMS side. Descartes’ fiscal year starts on 1 February, so “early next fiscal year” means roughly February to April 2027.
That is my reading, not Descartes’ wording: a public company does not tell investors to expect revenue to disappear from a product line it plans to keep selling. Order Manager is the obvious candidate, but Descartes has not named it.
What are Order Manager customers being told?
On a recorded call on 6 November 2026, the operations lead at a multichannel brand that runs on Order Manager told me what their Extensiv account rep had said. Three points, in their words as relayed to me:
- Descartes will not renew Order Manager contracts.
- There is no timeline yet for when the product will actually be sunset.
- Customers are being pointed towards Finale Inventory, which Descartes also owns.
This is one customer’s account of a conversation with their rep. I have not seen it in writing, and Extensiv has not published it. It does fit everything above, and it fits the shape of every acquired-then-retired product I have followed. That brand’s contract runs into mid-2027, and they are asking to be released from it early.

Why would Descartes retire it?
Because it now owns three products that do roughly the same job for a brand: Sellercloud, Finale, and Order Manager. Order Manager is the one it bought by accident. Descartes wanted Extensiv’s warehouse software for 3PLs, and Skubana came along inside the company. Running three overlapping order and inventory platforms is expensive, and the cheapest one to stop is the one that wasn’t the reason for the deal.
Order Manager customers have watched this coming for a while. The brand I spoke to described the product as getting essentially no meaningful updates in the years since Skubana was acquired. That matches what I hear from operators who left it, which is on the Skubana alternatives page.
None of that is unusual. TradeGecko, Stitch Labs and Orderhive all went the same way after an acquisition, and I have collected them on the inventory software graveyard.
What should you do now if you’re on Order Manager?
In this order:
- Get your contract end date and renewal terms in writing. Ask your account manager directly: will my contract be renewed, and if not, when does my access end? Put the answer in an email thread.
- Ask whether you can leave early. If you are going to move anyway, months of paying for software you’re trying to stop using is the most avoidable cost of the whole switch. Ask what happens to your remaining term if Descartes ends the product before it runs out.
- Ask about read-only access after the end date. Some vendors leave an export window after a product shuts down. Don’t assume you’ll get one.
- Export your data now. Products, bundles, vendors, open purchase orders, stock by warehouse, and at least twelve months of orders. The full checklist is in how to migrate off Extensiv Order Manager.
- Don’t migrate in a hurry. A rushed move during peak season is worse than six more months on a product with no roadmap. With a contract that runs into 2027, you have time to choose properly, but not time to wait and see.
Should you just move to Finale?
Maybe. If your rep is suggesting it, you will at least be staying with one vendor’s contract and support organisation. Know what you’re buying first: since Descartes bought Finale, its published pricing starts at $499 a month, and API and EDI access sits on the Enterprise plan, which is quote-only. I wrote up what changed at Finale after the acquisition, from its own pricing page and from former users on recorded calls.
The obvious question to put to your rep is whether Finale is a long-term home, or the next consolidation candidate. You are being moved once because of a portfolio decision. Make sure you aren’t moved twice. TradeGecko customers who took Intuit’s suggested path in 2022 were shut down again fourteen months later.
Where else can Order Manager customers go?
The Skubana alternatives page has the full table of who fits where, including the honest cases where a smaller tool is the better answer. In short:
- Finale, if staying inside Descartes matters most to you.
- SKU.io, if you are a $1M–$50M multichannel brand on Shopify plus Amazon, Walmart, TikTok Shop or wholesale, with bundles and kits and a 3PL, and you want every unit on an auditable ledger and order-level profit after marketplace fees. About $1,000 a month, no onboarding fees, and I give the demo myself.
- Cin7, Linnworks or Katana, depending on whether you lean on integrations, listings or manufacturing.
- Zoho Inventory or inFlow, if you are under about $1M on one channel and Order Manager was always more system than you needed.
Frequently asked questions
Is Extensiv Order Manager being discontinued? Descartes has not announced a date. Customers report being told their Order Manager contracts won’t be renewed, and Descartes told investors in September 2026 to expect revenue attrition from the part of Extensiv outside its 3PL warehouse business, early in its fiscal year starting February 2027.
Is Skubana shutting down? Skubana was renamed Extensiv Order Manager in May 2022, so the question is about Order Manager. As of 6 November 2026 there is no public shutdown date, but customers are being told contracts won’t be renewed.
Who owns Skubana now? Descartes Systems Group, since its acquisition of Extensiv on 1 September 2026. 3PL Central, which renamed itself Extensiv, bought Skubana in April 2021.
What is replacing Extensiv Order Manager? Customers report their Extensiv reps pointing them to Finale Inventory, which Descartes bought in August 2025. Descartes has not announced an official replacement.
When do I need to leave Order Manager? Plan for your contract end date, unless Extensiv tells you in writing that your access continues past it. Ask for that date, and for any early-release terms, now.
