Keep MFN offers live as an FBA backup
If you sell the same product through FBA and from your own warehouse, the two offers compete. Publish your own stock all the time and your merchant-fulfilled (MFN) offer can take sales, and the Buy Box, from the FBA offer. Publish nothing and you lose sales the day FBA runs out. FBM Backup Mode does both: SKU.io publishes 0 on the MFN offer while the linked FBA offer has stock, and publishes your real quantity once FBA availability drops to a threshold you choose. The offer stays live the whole time.
Before you begin
- SKU.io is the Master of Stock for the Amazon connection, under Amazon Settings → Inventory Sync, with your Stock Warehouses chosen. The quantity published when backup kicks in comes from those warehouses.
- The MFN listing is mapped to a product, and that product also has an FBA listing on Amazon. Listings that aren't, aren't affected.
- You have permission to change the connection's settings.
Turn it on for the whole catalog
-
Go to Apps & Integrations, open your Amazon connection, then open Amazon Settings and the Inventory Sync tab.
-
Scroll to FBM Backup Mode and turn on Enable FBM Backup Mode by default for eligible MFN listings.

-
In FBA stock threshold, enter the FBA quantity at which your own stock takes over. With 0, the MFN offer publishes stock only once the FBA offer is sold out. A higher number switches earlier, so you don't run dry while the last FBA units sell.
-
In FBA scope, choose which FBA stock counts:
- Same marketplace: only FBA stock in the listing's own marketplace.
- All marketplaces: FBA stock in every marketplace of the connection.
-
Click Save Changes.
From the next inventory update on, each eligible MFN listing publishes 0 while the linked FBA availability is above the threshold, and your real quantity once it's at or below it.
Change it for one listing
A listing can follow the catalog default or set its own rule.
- Open the listing from the product's listings, then find the FBM Backup Mode card. It appears only on Amazon MFN listings.
- Turn off Inherit from Amazon settings to set a rule for this listing alone.
- Turn Only publish stock when linked FBA is out of stock on or off, and set the threshold and scope for this listing.
The card also tells you what's happening now. FBM backup suppressed means the linked FBA offer has more than the threshold, so SKU.io is publishing 0. FBM backup active means SKU.io is publishing your own stock. A warning appears if the listing has no linked FBA listing, or isn't mapped to a product.
