Set MAP prices
Many brands set a minimum advertised price (MAP): no seller should advertise the product below it. SKU.io checks every offer on a watched Amazon listing against the brand's MAP price each hour, flags the breaks in the report's MAP column, names the sellers involved, and raises a MAP violation alert.
Before you begin
- Reporting must be set up for the brand. See Set up brand reporting.
- If the brand's MAP prices live in a pricing tier, the tier must exist and hold a price for each product. See your pricing tiers under Settings.
- You need the Brand Reports → Manage permission.
How a MAP break is decided
- An offer is a MAP break when its listing price is strictly below the MAP price, less any tolerance you set. An offer priced exactly at MAP isn't a break.
- Shipping is ignored: only the listing price counts.
- Your own offer below MAP isn't reported to the brand as a break. Amazon retail is named Amazon, not by its seller ID.
- MAP prices are compared in the marketplace's currency. If the pricing tier is in another currency, SKU.io converts it with your stored exchange rate. If there's no rate, the row shows no MAP price with the reason, rather than comparing mismatched numbers.
- A row with no MAP price at all shows no MAP price, never "N". A period with no samples shows no data.
Choose a MAP policy
- Open the brand's reporting settings: Insights → Reports → Brand Reports → Managed brands, then click the brand.
- Under MAP policy, choose one of:
- No MAP for this brand. The MAP column shows a dash and the PDF has no MAP section.
- A pricing tier, such as MAP. Each product's price in that tier is its MAP price.
- If you chose a tier, enter a tolerance as a percentage. With a 2% tolerance on a $50.00 MAP, an offer counts as a break only below $49.00. Leave it at 0 for the strict rule.
- Click Save.
Set a MAP price on one ASIN
Use this for ASINs with no price in the tier, typically brand ASINs you don't carry.
- In the Core ASINs card, find the ASIN and click its MAP cell.
- Enter the MAP price in the marketplace's currency and click Save.
A pencil beside the price marks a price set by hand. To remove it, click the cell and choose Clear, or right-click the row and choose Clear MAP Override.
A per-ASIN MAP price is used only when the brand's policy is a pricing tier and the tier has no price for that product. The tier price wins when both exist.
Upload a MAP price list
When the brand sends you a price list, upload it instead of entering prices one by one.
- In the Core ASINs card, click Upload MAP prices.
- Click Choose file and select the CSV.
- Click Upload.
SKU.io reports how many MAP prices it updated, and lists any rows it couldn't match (up to the first 12, then "…").
The file
A CSV with two columns, in this order. A header row is ignored, so you can keep one.
| Column | Required | Format | What it matches |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 — key | Yes | Text | The ASIN, or the product's SKU, MPN, or the Amazon listing's manufacturer part number. Matching ignores upper and lower case. |
| 2 — MAP price | Yes | A number | The MAP price in the marketplace's currency. A $, commas and spaces are stripped, so $1,299.00 works. |
For example:
asin,map_price
B00KBTQ7D4,72.95
TM-471,74.95
How rows are applied:
- A row updates every watched ASIN that matches its key, on any Amazon channel the report covers. A key that matches a product with two ASINs updates both.
- A row whose key doesn't match a watched ASIN is skipped and listed as not matched. Add the ASIN to the watchlist first; see Choose a brand's core products.
- Rows with a blank key or a price that isn't a number are skipped.
- Uploading again replaces the earlier prices for the rows it matches. Rows you leave out keep their price.
- The file can be up to 2 MB and 5,000 rows, and must be a CSV.
