Brand alerts
A weekly report tells the brand what happened last week. Alerts tell you the hour it happens, so you can act on a MAP break or a lost Buy Box before it costs a week of sales. Brand alerts appear in the bell at the top of SKU.io, and in email or Slack if you've turned that on.
Before you begin
- Alerts are raised only for brands with reporting turned on, and listing alerts only for their watched ASINs. See Set up brand reporting.
- Brand alerts go to everyone with the Brand Reports → Manage permission. Brand Report Overdue and Brand Report Send Failed go to admins as well.
The brand alerts
Listing alerts stay open while the problem lasts and close themselves when it clears. Report alerts mark a single event.
| Alert | Opens when | Closes when |
|---|---|---|
| Brand MAP Violation | A seller offers a watched ASIN below the brand's MAP price. One sample is enough, because a price isn't something that rotates. | Two samples in a row show no seller below MAP. |
| Amazon Retail Selling a Managed Brand ASIN | Amazon retail starts selling a watched ASIN. | Amazon's offer leaves the listing. |
| Brand Buy Box Lost | Another seller has held the Buy Box on a core ASIN for three samples in a row. A single lost sample is ignored, because the Buy Box rotates. | You win the Buy Box back. |
| Unexpected Seller on a Managed Brand ASIN | A seller other than you or Amazon has an offer on a core ASIN for three samples in a row, on a brand with competition monitoring off. On an exclusive or own brand, this is usually an unauthorised seller. | The seller has been gone for two samples in a row. |
| Brand Sales Drop | A brand's weekly core sales, or a core ASIN's sales, fall by 40% or more from the prior week. Weeks where the prior week sold less than 200 in your currency are ignored, so small products don't raise noise. Both numbers are defaults; change them under Sales-drop alert in the brand's reporting settings. Not raised for a brand's first report. | — |
| Brand Report Ready for Review | A weekly or monthly report has been built and is waiting for review. | The report is sent. |
| Brand Report Overdue | A report has been waiting for review for more than 24 hours. | The report is sent. |
| Brand Report Send Failed | A report couldn't be delivered to one or more recipients. | A later send reaches everyone. |
Listings are sampled every hour, so a listing alert reaches you within about an hour of the change.
Act on an alert
-
Click the bell at the top of SKU.io.
-
Click the brand alert.
A listing alert opens the brand's latest report with the offer evidence for that ASIN: the MAP price, every seller's offer, and who held the Buy Box. If the brand has no report yet, it opens the brand's reporting settings. A report alert opens the report.
-
Act on it. For a MAP break, download the Evidence PDF for the brand; for an unexpected seller, consider whether to turn on competition monitoring.
Alerts never send anything to the brand. Only sending a report does.
Choose how you're told
Brand alerts are on by default.
- To turn a brand alert on or off for everyone, or change who receives it, go to Settings → Alerts & Notifications → Alert Preferences. They're grouped under Brand.
- To choose whether you get each alert in the app, by email, in a daily digest, or in Slack, go to Settings → Alerts & Notifications → My Notifications.
Run a workflow on a brand event
Five brand events can start a workflow, so you can post to Slack, add a row to a Google Sheet, or call a webhook when they happen:
| Trigger | Fires when |
|---|---|
| Brand MAP Violation Detected | A MAP violation starts on a watched ASIN. |
| Brand Amazon Retail Detected | Amazon retail starts selling a watched ASIN. |
| Brand Buy Box Lost | The Buy Box on a core ASIN is lost. |
| Brand Report Ready | A report is waiting for review. |
| Brand Report Sent | A report has been sent to the brand. |
Each trigger passes the brand, the ASIN and SKU where there is one, the seller, the price and MAP price, when it was seen, and the report and its share link where there is one. The triggers don't filter by brand themselves, so add a condition on the brand if a workflow is only for one. See How workflows work.
