Audit listing quality
Brands judge a distributor partly by how their listings look. SKU.io audits every core ASIN's Amazon listing once a month against nine checks, scores it out of 100, and puts the result and a fix-it list in the brand's monthly report.
Before you begin
- Reporting must be set up for the brand, with Listing quality audit ticked under Monthly sections. See Set up brand reporting.
- You need the Brand Reports → Manage permission to run an audit or confirm checks.
- The image check that reads text on images uses SKU.io's AI. If AI is turned off for your account, that check shows as unknown and the rest still run.
The nine checks
| Check | Passes when | Weight |
|---|---|---|
| Image count | The listing uses 7 or more of its 9 image slots. All 9 earn full marks and 7 or 8 most of them; 4 to 6 earn half; fewer than 4 fail. | 15 |
| Main image white background | The main image's edges are pure white. | 10 |
| Mobile-readable images | At least one secondary image carries a benefit in text large enough to read on a phone. Checked by AI on up to four images. | 15 |
| Five bullets | All 5 bullet points are used. 3 or 4 earn half; fewer than 3 fail. | 10 |
| Bullet lead-ins | At least 4 of the 5 bullets start with a short capitalised lead-in and a colon, such as LONG BATTERY LIFE: … | 10 |
| A+ content | You've confirmed the listing has A+ content. | 15 |
| Formatted description | The description is at least 200 characters and broken into paragraphs or "-" bullets. | 10 |
| Brand Store | You've confirmed the brand has an Amazon Brand Store. | 5 |
| Title length | The title is 80 to 200 characters. | 10 |
The score is the weighted share of checks passed, out of 100. A check SKU.io can't decide, such as A+ content you haven't confirmed, counts as unknown and is left out of the score rather than counted as a fail. A listing with no catalog data at all gets no score (a dash), and is left out of the brand's score. The brand score is the average of its listings.
Run an audit now
Audits run automatically on the 1st of each month, so the monthly report has fresh scores. To audit now, for example after fixing a listing:
- Open the brand's reporting settings: Insights → Reports → Brand Reports → Managed brands, then click the brand.
- In the Listing quality card, click Run audit now.
The audit runs in the background and appears in the job tray as Listing quality audit with the brand's name.
Confirm A+ content and the Brand Store
SKU.io can't see A+ content or a Brand Store from the listing data, so you confirm them.
- A+ content: in the Listing quality card, tick A+ confirmed for each ASIN that has A+ content. The date you confirmed it is kept.
- Brand Store: under Amazon Brand Store, enter the store's address and click Confirm. Clear removes it.
What the report shows
In the Listing quality card, and in the monthly report:
- The Brand score, when it was last audited, how many listings score below 70, and the trend over recent months.
- One row per core ASIN with its Score and an icon per check: passed, partly passed, failed, or unknown. Hover over an icon for the detail, such as the image count.
- Action items for every listing below 70, phrased as the fixes to make.
A monthly report shows the audit as it stood at the end of that month, even if you've audited again since.
