Set product overrides
Network rules apply to every product at a network. A product override makes an exception for one product at one network: leave a SKU out of FBT, give a hero product a longer target at FBA, or tell the planner a WFS listing sells 3-packs. Overrides apply from the next calculation.
Before you begin
- You need the Send Planner → Edit permission. Without it the table is read-only: there's no row for adding an override, and the edit and delete buttons say "You need the Send Planner edit permission".
- Set the network's own rules first, so the override is a true exception. See Set network rules.
Add an override
-
Go to Inventory → Send Planner and open the Network rules tab.
-
Scroll to Product overrides.
-
In the list at the top right of the card, pick the network. It starts on the first network. The table shows that network's overrides, or "No product overrides for this network."

-
In the bottom row, click Search SKU or name and type at least two characters of the product's SKU or name. Pick the product.
-
Fill in only the fields you want to override. Each one is described in the table below. To leave the product out of this network entirely, tick Exclude instead; the other fields grey out.
-
Click Save.
The override saves straight away; you don't need Save changes at the top of the tab. The planner says "Product rule saved", and the row appears in the table. An empty cell shows a dash, which means the network's rule applies.
Override fields
| Field | What it does | Allowed |
|---|---|---|
| Excluded | Leaves the product out of this network. Its line in the plan becomes Ineligible, explained as "Excluded from this network in Network rules". | |
| Target days | The product's own target cover at this network, in place of the network's Target cover. | 1–365 |
| Priority | Who gets more of this product when stock is short. Every network first gets enough to reach its floor; the rest is shared by priority. 1 is normal; a network at 2 ends up with about twice the days of cover of a network at 1, but never below either one's floor. It works like the network's Priority, for this product only. | 0.1–10 |
| First send (new listing) | Units to send when the product is a new listing at this network, in place of First send (new listing). | 0–100,000 |
| Pack size | For a listing that sells packs. A 3-pack is 3: the network's stock and sales of the listing are counted as three single units each, and the table shows 3-pack. Leave it empty, or 1, for single units. | 1–1,000 |
| Storage type | Which capacity limit the product counts against: From dimensions (the default), Standard, Oversize, Apparel or Footwear. See Set network capacity limits. | |
| Case GTIN (ITF-14) | The ITF-14 barcode printed on the product's cases. Walmart WFS needs it for case-packed sends; without it, the line is flagged No case label. | exactly 14 digits |
A case GTIN that isn't 14 digits shows "A case GTIN is 14 digits" under the field, and the save fails with "A case GTIN (ITF-14) is exactly 14 digits."
Change an override
- Click the pencil icon (Edit override) at the end of the override's row. The row is highlighted, and the bottom row fills in with the override's current values. The product can't be changed while you edit.
- Change the fields you want. The fields you leave alone keep their values.
- Click Save. To stop without saving, click Cancel.
Picking another network, or removing the override, also cancels the edit.
Remove an override
- Click the delete icon at the end of the override's row.
- Click Remove in the "Remove this product override?" confirmation.
The planner says "Override removed". From the next calculation, the product follows the network's rules again.
When to use an override, and when not to
| You want to… | Use |
|---|---|
| Stop sending one product to one network | Exclude on a product override. |
| Stop sending one product to every network | Archive the product, or exclude it from each network. |
| Change a target for every product at a network | The network card, under Set network rules. |
| Change one SKU's send this week only | Edit its quantity on the Plan tab. See Change a send quantity. |
| Try a different target without saving it | A scenario. See Try a what-if with a scenario. |
There's no import for product overrides. Add them one product at a time in the table.

- How a network's send is calculated: how targets, seeds and pack sizes feed the need.
