Set network capacity limits
Fulfillment networks limit how much of your stock they take. Amazon FBA sets a monthly capacity in cubic feet, and other networks may give you a unit count. Enter those limits under Capacity limits, and the Send Planner trims each plan so a network never receives more than it can take.
Before you begin
- You need the Send Planner → Edit permission. Without it the table is read-only: there's no row for adding a limit, and the edit and delete buttons say "You need the Send Planner edit permission".
- Have the month's figure from the network to hand. TikTok publishes no capacity figure SKU.io can read, so for TikTok FBT you type the month's units limit yourself.
- For limits in cubic feet, give your products dimensions. The planner uses them to work out the cubic feet of each send and whether a product is oversize.
Add a limit
-
Go to Inventory → Send Planner and open the Network rules tab.
-
Scroll to Capacity limits. Existing limits are listed newest month first, with a this month chip on the current month. The last row is for adding a limit.

-
In the Network list, pick the network.
-
In Month, pick the month the limit applies to. It starts on the current month.
-
In Storage type, pick which products the limit counts. See Storage types.
-
Type the Limit. It can't be negative.
-
In Measured in, choose cu ft or units, whichever the network gives you.
-
Optionally, type a Note, for example "Confirmed Sep 17".
-
Click Save. It's greyed out until a network, a month and a limit are filled in.
The limit saves straight away; you don't need Save changes at the top of the tab. The planner says "Capacity saved", and the limit applies from the next calculation.
A network has one limit per month and storage type. Saving a limit for a network, month and storage type that already has one replaces it.
Change or delete a limit
- To change a limit, click the pencil icon on its row. The limit moves into the bottom row with its network, month and storage type locked. Change the Limit, Measured in or Note, then click Save. Click Cancel to leave it as it was.
- To delete a limit, click the delete icon on its row, then Delete in the "Delete this capacity limit?" confirmation. The planner says "Capacity limit deleted".
There's no import for capacity limits. Enter each month's limits in the table.
Storage types
| Storage type | What counts against it |
|---|---|
| Standard | Products that aren't oversize, apparel or footwear. |
| Oversize | Products with a side over 18 × 14 × 8 inches, or weighing over 20 lb, worked out from their dimensions. |
| Apparel | Products you mark as apparel for that network under Product overrides. |
| Footwear | Products you mark as footwear for that network under Product overrides. |
| All products | Every product, whatever its type. Use it when the network gives you one overall figure, often in units. |
A product counts against the limit for its own storage type, and against an All products limit as well when there is one. To put a product in a different storage type than its dimensions suggest, set its Storage type under Product overrides.
How the plan fits a network's capacity
After the planner has worked out every send, it checks each network against the month's limits. For each limit, it counts:
- what the network already holds,
- what's already on its way to the network,
- open shipment drafts, and
- the sends in this plan.
If that total is over the limit, the planner cuts sends until it fits:
- It cuts whole cases, never part of a case.
- It cuts the SKUs least worth sending first: ABC class C, then SKUs without a class, then class B, then class A.
- Within a class, it cuts the SKU that would have the most days of cover after the send first.
- Lines you edited, allocated or already drafted count toward the limit, but they're never cut.
- If a cut leaves a send below the network's Smallest send, the line is dropped.
A trimmed line says so in its explanation, for example "Cut 24 units to fit FBA standard capacity" and "Capped by FBA standard capacity (October limit)", and carries the Capacity cap flag. Units cut from Amazon FBA because of its capacity can go to Amazon AWD instead, as buffer stock that feeds FBA later.
The Where it goes summary on the Plan tab shows each network's capacity use, for example "Capacity 219 / 4,200 cu ft · 5%".
A plan calculated for only some products counts the rest of the network's sends from the newest full working plan. If there isn't one yet, that plan isn't trimmed to capacity.
To see what a tighter month would do without changing the limits, create a scenario from the Capacity −20% template. See Try a what-if with a scenario.
A month with no limit
Limits are per month and don't carry over. If a network has limits in other months but none for the current one, the planner doesn't cap that network at all this month. Both places warn you:
- Network rules shows "No October limit entered for Amazon FBA US: plans won't cap it this month. Add this month's limit below." above the table, with the month and network filled in.
- The Plan tab shows "No October limit entered for Amazon FBA US: this plan does not cap it." with "Enter this month's limit under Network rules → Capacity limits, then recalculate."
Add the month's limit, then click Recalculate on the Plan tab.
A network that has never had a limit isn't warned about. With no limits at all, the table says "No capacity limits. Plans send whatever the networks need."
Next steps
- Set product overrides: set a product's storage type.
- Read the send plan: see each network's capacity use.
