Create a purchase order from a supplier document

When a supplier sends an order confirmation, or you fill in their order sheet at a market, you don't have to retype it. Upload the file and SKU.io reads the supplier, order number and lines, matches them to your products and builds a draft purchase order.

Before you begin

  • You need permission to create purchase orders.
  • Spreadsheets (XLSX or CSV) and market-app exports work as they are. PDFs and photos are read with document OCR, which must be turned on for your account.

Steps

  1. Go to Orders → Purchase Orders.
  2. Click New PO from Document.
  3. Drop the file in, or tap to choose it or take a photo. PDF, JPG, PNG, XLSX and CSV files up to 20 MB work.
  4. Optionally pick the Supplier (it's read off the sheet if you leave it) and Ship to warehouse, then upload.
  5. Wait while SKU.io reads the order. The review page opens when it's done.
  6. Check Order details: the supplier, Vendor order #, Order date and Expected delivery.
  7. Check Lines. Each line shows what was On the sheet and the Product it matched, first on the supplier's code, then barcode, then name, size and colour. Tick Only lines to check to see just the lines that need you.
  8. For a line that didn't match, click Change and pick the product, or untick the line to leave it out.
  9. Click Create Draft PO.

The supplier's code you match is remembered, so the next sheet from that supplier matches it automatically.
