Generate orders within your cash
Once a plan is ranked by cash, Generate orders creates purchase orders for the lines you can afford now, one per supplier. Lines that wait for cash or are due later stay listed so you can come back to them.
Before you begin
- Rank the plan by cash.
- You need permission to create purchase orders.
Steps
- On Inventory → Demand Planning, with the plan's results open, click Generate orders.
- Read the summary at the top: the Ticked total, what's Paid in the next 12 weeks, and the Headroom left in the tightest week.
- Check the Fits section. Lines that fit and are due now are already ticked.
- Check the Waits section. These lines are unticked. Tick one to include it anyway.
- Read Order later. These lines fit but aren't due yet, so they aren't created now. Each shows the date to Order on.
- Choose the PO status for the new orders.
- Tick Create below supplier minimums only if you want a supplier's order created even when its ticked lines fall short of its minimum order value or quantity.
- Click Create 1 PO. The button counts the purchase orders it will create, one per supplier.
Before creating anything, SKU.io checks the headroom again. If a bill was added or a cost changed since the plan was built, it asks you to rebuild or re-rank first.
