Read the cash-flow calendar

The cash-flow calendar answers "will we have enough cash?" for the months ahead. It starts from your cash, adds expected sales payouts and takes off what you owe suppliers.

Before you begin

  • To see opening and closing cash, you need the View balances permission. Without it the calendar shows money in and out only.
  • The calendar starts from the cash you entered under buying capacity, if you've set it.

Steps

  1. Go to Inventory → Cash Flow.
  2. Check Starting cash. Change it to try a different figure; this doesn't change your saved buying capacity.
  3. Set Months ahead.
  4. Read Projected cash by month: Opening cash, Money in (sales), Deposits due, Balances due, Money out and Closing cash.
  5. In the current month, Part estimated means past days are actual sales and the rest of the month is an estimated payout. Hover the info icon to see how it was worked out.
  6. Click a month to list its payables. Each row links to its purchase order or bill.
  7. Expand a payable to see its schedule rows. Each row shows where the date came from, such as Invoiced.
