Rank the plan by cash
When cash is tight, the question isn't only what you need but what to buy first. The Ranked by cash view puts every reorder line from every supplier in one list, best value for your cash first, and marks where the money runs out.
Before you begin
- Set your buying capacity.
- You need the View ranking & headroom permission. Pinning lines needs Pin lines.
Steps
- Go to Inventory → Demand Planning.
- Under Suppliers, pick the suppliers to plan for, then click Build Forecast.
- Read the Buying capacity card above the results. Spendable by week shows one bar per week, and the flag marks the Tightest week. Hover a bar to see that week's payables, reserve and headroom.
- In Results, click Ranked by cash.
- Read the table from the top. Each line shows its rank (#), stockout Risk, Qty, the Cash it costs, the weeks it Pays, the Order by date and the $/ $1 score.
- Find the Cut line — budget runs out here row. Lines above it fit your weekly headroom, and lines below it wait for cash.
- Use All, Fits, Waits and Excluded to filter the list.
- To see why a line is where it is, click its Calculation details icon and open the Cash step. It shows the pay weeks, the headroom before and after, and the rank.
- To overrule the ranking, open a line's menu and choose Keep in to pin it to Fits, or Push out to pin it to Waits. The headroom and the cut line recalculate, and the pin is logged on the plan.
A line marked Buy now has reached its order-by date: order it today to avoid running out.
tip
Click AI: explain to have the assistant explain the cut and suggest levers, such as asking a supplier for longer terms. It needs the AI permission.
