Build size curves from sales

Ordering every size in equal amounts leaves you out of the best sellers and stuck with the rest. Build a size curve from a style's real sales instead, so a forecast splits across sizes the way your customers buy.

Before you begin

  • The style is a product with size variants (and optionally colour variants) that have sold.

Steps

  1. Go to Inventory → Size Profiles and click Derive from Sales.
  2. Under Style (matrix product), search for and pick the style.
  3. Choose the History window, for example 365 days.
  4. Turn on Correct for sold-out sizes. A size that sold out early is then weighted on how fast it sold while in stock, so its share isn't understated.
  5. To leave out markdown sales, turn on Full-price sales only.
  6. Click Preview curve. The Size Curve chart and table show each size's share, totalling 100%.
  7. Check the Profile name, then click Save Profile.

Sizes sold in several colours are combined, so you get one share per size.

To type a curve yourself instead, click Add Profile.
